About Us
Serving You with Family Values
Sitters Etc. is a family-owned non-medical in home care company. In the late 1990s, Beau Brothers and his family in northeast Arkansas encountered the same frustrating dilemma that many Middle Tennesseans face when seeking qualified in-home assistance for a loved one. "When my grandmother started needing help at home on a full-time basis, we couldn’t find licensed, bonded and insured caregivers," Beau recalls. "None of the caregivers were officially managed or trained, nor were they even screened for a history of criminal involvement. My family and I had very little ‘peace of mind’ when one came to see to my grandmother’s needs. We saw a real opportunity to help other people in a similar situation."
So, in 2001, Beau launched Sitters Etc. in Brentwood, TN. High service standards and solid determination thrust the company into full gear, resulting in the expansion of the company to Crossville, Chattanooga, Dyersburg, Jackson, and Memphis. Offices were also opened in Jonesboro and Little Rock, Arkansas. Under the management of Beau and his wife, Kimberly, Sitters Etc. was selected by the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce as a Music City Future 50 Company of 2006 - 2010. After the fifth win, Sitters Etc. became inducted into the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce's Future 50 Hall of Fame. Sitters Etc. has also been chosen as an Inc. 5000 business in both 2008 (#1,674) and 2009 (#977).
Services Offered
Specializing in home care for seniors and disabled persons, Sitters Etc. assists clients with the activities of daily living including housework, meal preparation, bathing and dressing, errands and transportation to and from appointments offering as little as a few hours of help a week to as much as 24-hour live-in care. The company also provides in-home services to post-surgical patients, pregnant women and new mothers, as well as on-site assistance in the hospital and in assisted-living settings. Additionally, the firm has contracts with several large companies where, as part of their benefits package, Sitters Etc. provides sick-child care and elderly care so that employees can still attend work. Sitters Etc. also proudly services our United States Veterans through the programs offered by the Veterans Administration.
Honest, Reliable Caregivers
"We had two primary objectives when we started Sitters Etc.," says Beau. "First, we would provide better service than any other company in this business, and second, we would ensure that our caregivers are trained, experienced and meticulously pre-screened." Accordingly, all Sitters Etc. caregivers have a minimum of two years of previous caregiving experience. They must also pass criminal-background, abuse and sexual-abuse checks, as well as a social-security verification.
In addition, all Sitters Etc. caregivers must complete the company’s bi-annual in-house training program. Sitters Etc. verifies each caregivers' addresses throughout the previous seven years.
Highest Levels of Service
"My standards and service levels are very high. We must be there on time, and we must do what we say we will do," Beau says. "Operating a family-owned business means my name is on the line. So we treat each of our clients exactly as we would treat someone in our own family. Our clients are our priority."
Compassionate Caregivers
Sitters Etc.'s caregivers are trained in the common diseases of today's seniors...Congestive Heart Failure, Chronic Pulmonary Disease, Alzheimer's, etc. They are trained to provide support to those in need of assistance and to ALWAYS put the needs of the client first. When providing assistance with personal care, PRIVACY and DIGNITY is maintained at all times. The care Sitters Etc. caregivers provide our elderly is put into perspective on a personal level when they are asked to place themselves in the shoes of someone who needs assistance getting in/out of a shower, to be reminded to eat or take their medications, to be aware of their continence needs. All of these feelings need to be taken into account when providing senior care. COMPASSION...a must!
About the Owners
The owners of Sitters Etc., Beau and Kimberly Brothers, have vested their time and energies towards providing the BEST CARE in the non-medical homecare field. Beau and Kimberly are both graduates of Arkansas State University where Beau attained a BSA in Accounting and Kimberly a BSA in Education. After several years of teaching, Kimberly decided to work with Sitters Etc. and assist in the expansion to Memphis, Little Rock, Chattanooga and subsequent offices.
Beau instills in all of his employees and his family the DO IT BETTER THAN EVERYONE ELSE motto. This comes as personal experiences made it to clear to both Beau and his wife what is desired and needed from caregivers when servicing a client. Beau's grandparents needed homecare and it came at a time when no managed caregivers were available in Northeastern Arkansas. No background checks were available; no experienced caregivers from licensed agencies were available to care for his loved ones. Kimberly's father received hospice care for a period of time and she found that COMPASSIONATE caregivers are sometimes the best medicine for one facing the end of life's journey and the family enduring the pain of losing a loved one. A caregiver who can provide quality, experienced care while adding that special personal touch is the caregiver that Beau and Kimberly want to send out to their clients.
Born March 17, 2009, Miss Isabella Diana Brothers joined Beau and Kimberly to expand their family to three! Isabella joined the world very early and spent over one month in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Baptist Hospital in Nashville, TN. After weighing only 2 lbs, 12 ounces at her birth, Isabella has grown to become quite a strong baby. Each day, Beau and Kimberly are amazed to have finally been granted the dream of being parents.
Beau, Kimberly and Isabella Brothers attend Brentwood Baptist Church. They happily reside in the Leiper's Fork community of Franklin, TN where Beau works on redeveloping the landscape of his mountaintop home during the weekends so that Isabella will enjoy her formative years with friends running up and down the valley. Beau and Kimberly understand they are blessed to work together in managing the day to day operations and the expansion of Sitters Etc. Everyday they spend with their little one, Isabella is a joyous day and for that, they are thankful.
